In Ghana, there are many different languages, but in our community our mother language is Twi and English

Note from Cari Gersh: There are 8 more letters, however….due to my time limit on the computer…I was unable to send all of them.  These 8 letters are similar to these sent now.  As you can see, my students’ letters consist of the same information.  I hope their ideas will expand a bit during their next letter!

We are all waiting anxiously for your students’ letters…..so we hope to hear from you soon.

This is my first time doing an internet project, so what suggestions do you have as a theme for our internet project?  My students are eager to learn about New York.  I’ll be discussing with them possible themes…….what do you think your students might want to focus on?

I have access to the internet about once a week……so if my reply isn’t quick, it is because I didn’t have access to check my mail.  Also, since there are no computers, I am thinking of sending off letters once a week……how does this sound?  Unfortunately, there 6 not much room in the curriculum here for an internet project…and even more, there is no computers for the students to use, so I will be typing all their letters into the computer.  I have 150 students, and they are broken up into 3 different classes.  So, I’ve grouped them together, with 5 students in a group.  As time goes on…..I will see if all my students will take part, since we might have to use time after school to write the letters, therefore I’m not sure if all students will take part.  But, they are all excited, and are all eager to contribute!

Say hello to NY!

Goodbye from Ghana……

Cari
