Description: After creating a homepage with html and learning how to e-mail, the following quiz is used to review and also to assess how much the students have retained about the procedures associated with these tasks.
Objectives: Students will be able to recall and write the various commands and codes needed to access e-mail and to retrieve their index file which is the file that contains their homepage tags.
Aim: How can we review our e-mail commands and accessing our index files?
Materials: Work Sheet, questions listed below.
Procedures: Review notes on e-mail commands and the procedures for retrieving the index page in class as a group. Survey students for any question they may have. Remind students to study these notes for a quiz.
Internet activity: Have the students e-mial each other to review e-mail commands. Have students retrieve their index files and check the tags of their homepage.
Non-Internet activity: Have students answer the following questions.

Answer the following questions in complete sentences.
- What is your login?
- What is your password?
- What icon (picture) do you click on to go to e-mail?
- What is the number of Telnet?
- Write your Location. Your Internet Location is also called a URL or a web address.
- What is the last word at the dollar sign you type to get to e-mail? (Hint - it is a type of tree.)
- Fill in the blanks. To work on your index, you type the following commands:
$ cd ------_html
$ ----index.----
- What does control R do?
- What is the command for 'save'?
- If you want to see your homepage on the Web, what program do we switch to(open)?
Assessment measure: Each question is worth ten points. Note is also checked for completeness and graded in the grade book.
Answers should be in complete sentences, also check the answers for correct English usage.
